Montevideo Elementary School

Principal's Message

Dear Montevideo Students and Parents,

It is with great enthusiasm that I join the amazing staff and community at Montevideo Elementary School.  I look forward to collaborating with parents, staff, and community leaders to support our students in setting and reaching personal goals, forming meaningful friendships and relationships, and achieving academic excellence.

At Montevideo, we pride ourselves in our strong partnerships with parents and significant relationships with students.  Keeping our schoolwide vision at the forefront of all teaching practices and instructional decisions ensures that all students will achieve and succeed.  Educating the whole child is a priority for the entire community and therefore, our curricular programs reflect a balanced elementary education for all Mustangs.  Here at Montevideo we believe:

  • Every child deserves a free and top quality education.
  • ALL students can learn when learning is relevant.
  • The Common Core Standards provide equity, opportunity, access to higher level thinking and a rigorous education for all.
  • Character development and rigorous academics are equally important in preparing our students for secondary school, college and the workforce.
  • Students flourish when education includes art, music, science and social science.
  • Parent participation is key to student success.
  • Education leads to advancement and provides choices for all students.

Prior to joining the Montevideo team, I served as Assistant Principal at Live Oak Elementary School in the SRVUSD for two years.  I also worked in various teaching positions in both General Education and Special Education for the Brentwood Union School District, including a Teacher on Special Assignment: Admin Designee.  I earned my Master of Science degree in Education with an option in Curriculum and completed my undergraduate coursework at California State University, East Bay. I am currently completing my Master of Arts degree in Educational Leadership and Administration at Brandman University.  A commitment to lifelong learning is a pursuit I hope all students at Montevideo will leave here with.

I come from a family of educators and feel very fortunate to work and grow in a field I am so passionate about.  When I am not with the Mustangs, I enjoy reading, hiking, crafting, spending time with friends and loved ones, and eating out at delicious new restaurants.

I look forward to a successful school year!  Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns or feedback.

Go Mustangs!
