Who is Mrs. Aitken?

I live in Lafayette with my husband, Thomas, and our son, Declan, with baby boy two on the way! I graduated from Sweet Briar College in Virginia with my MAT and credentials. I love being part of the Montevideo team!

Who is Ms. Coccimiglio?

I am happy to be joining room 3 as Mrs. Aitken's long term substitute. I was born and raised in San Ramon, and I have always loved the community. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a BS in Liberal Studies and a Spanish minor. I went on to CSU East Bay to receive my credential. I am so excited to be a part of the Montevideo team!

Montevideo's Book of the Month

Literature is powerful. Literature can help people reflect on feelings and create class-wide and school-wide discussions. At Montevideo, we work hard to be culturally responsive to build a community that emphasizes uniqueness. As a staff, we chose a book every month that is read school-wide and that goes along with a theme or message that we hope to bring to light for our students. MO's staff support students' in their reflections all month through extension activities. Thank you for being part of our community and working with all of us to build an environment where everyone feels heard and appreciated.

Below you'll find the list of books, click on the google doc and you'll see the books for the month. This is a working document that is updated monthly.
