MEF Auction Gala

Spring Gala 2018

It is here!!! Check out our Hollywood Auction program, by clicking here, for some details about the night, including games, sponsors and live auction items!!! Still to come...silent auction items. Check out the Montevideo Community Facebook page for periodic previews of other auction items.

Each year the MEF coordinates a spring auction, gala-style, where parents from across the grades attend an adults-only evening filled with entertainment.  Funds raised go solely toward supporting academic-related programs at Montevideo. Because these programs are integral to our children’s well-rounded education, and are unfortunately no longer supported financially by the state nor school district, we must work together as a community to ensure the programs are maintained. Art, music, library, computers, para-professionals, and math/reading intervention for struggling students all benefit from MEF fundraising. Can you imagine what Montevideo would be like for our children without these programs?

Because we don’t want to cut programs, the MEF delivers on their promise for an evening of fun along with the fundraising. Parents don costumes to match the theme, if they wish, arrive ready to bid on silent auction items and games of chance, and then sit down with friends for a relaxing meal and participation in live bidding with professional auctioneers.  Hot items typically include sports memorabilia, trips, jewelry, handbags, unique family experiences, classroom art projects, a donation from the staff, specialty desserts, and more!  A specific fund-a-need project is also featured. In years prior, funds were used to update the computer lab, art projects and increase the amount of leveled book sets for small reading groups in all grades. It’s truly a night not to be missed!

We look forward to your support by attending the gala this year or contributing however you may be able. Please contact Anthony Redondo at if you’d like contribute an auction item, join the planning committee, or help decorate. Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 10th at 5:30 p.m. for when we’re getting galmorous to raise funds with our Hollywood Glamour theme.
